Maximizing fuel consumption is obtained through two components - a detergency package for a clean injection system and cetane to ensure maximum combustion efficiency. Detergents are used to clean dirty injectors or to keep them clean. Cetane is used to reduce ignition delay, therefore allowing for more complete combustion of the fuel. This combination of detergents and cetane, when used as part of a consistent and ongoing program, will yield a fuel savings of up to 8 percent.
